Solutions for Life!
Life Coaching
I work with motivated individuals or groups who want to take themselves to the next level-personally or professionally. You
want to change your life and stop feeling stuck or out-of-balance. You want to stop going through the motions and really enjoy
life. Reading self-help books, listening to tapes, or going to motivational seminars just hasn't worked out the way you thought it
would. You are ready to take action.
Does this sound
familiar?
You feel stuck in your life or job. You're working hard,
but seem to be falling behind a little more each year. Colleagues seem to be passing you by even though you have
seniority.
Stress is literally killing you. Minor health problems are beginning to show up. You have less energy than you used to. You have no
time to relax and couldn’t even if you wanted to.
Your life seems totally out of whack. Yes, it’s good to set priorities, but life is just busy. By the time you work then try and have a home life,
it’s time for bed. Then you wake up and do it all over again. You seem to have lost your priorities, and life is out of
balance. All you do is work and come home.
Financially, things are getting tighter and
tighter. You’ve looked at other options such as real estate investing or stock market
investing. These seem OK, but you have no real passion for either. Your life is busy enough with no time for a second
job.
You don’t really enjoy life like you used
to. The thrill is gone. Gone with the hours you put in at work and taking
care of your kids (if you have them). Life is going fast and time seems to fly by without much notice.
Results you
can expect from coaching
Start moving again. I will help you learn to work smarter, not harder.
Come up with a plan of action for your life, rather than just reacting to life.
Manage your stress levels. Everything you come into contact with is
potentially stressful. Learn ways to manage stress and use it to your advantage.
Get your life back on track. Figure out what really matters to you, and then
live your life accordingly. This is not about rigid goal setting. This is about getting to the heart of what really matters to you,
then putting your energy to what counts the most.
Financially, come from abundance, not poverty. This is about mindset.
Ironically, the tighter you hold onto money, the harder it is to come by. There is abundance everywhere you look, but maybe you aren’t
seeing it right now.
Start enjoying life again. We all know what we should be doing, but how many
of us really do it? Are you living each day to the fullest? Put some fun back into your life. Watch kids—they are carefree and
can have fun anywhere.
How is coaching different
than therapy?
Ø Both use knowledge of human behavior, motivation and behavioral change and interactive counseling
methods.
Ø Both are focused on helping people make changes and accomplish goals that really matter to them. The major differences are in the goals and focus.
Ø Coaching is action-oriented and focuses primarily on the present and future, while therapy focuses on the past,
present and future.
Ø One primary task of therapy is the identification, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Coaches do not make psychiatric diagnoses.
Ø Therapy is typically done face-to-face while coaching can be done face-to-face or via telephone.
Ø Psychologists must be licensed in the state they practice. At this date there
is no national licensing or certification for coaches. (I am a licensed psychologist and coach, the best of both
worlds).
Ø Psychologists are viewed as the “expert” in the therapy relationship. Coaches
are viewed as equal partners with clients.
